ABA Therapy for Families Near Downtown Overland Park

Finding the right support for your child is one of the most important decisions you'll make. At The Behavior Project's Downtown Overland Park clinic, we provide early intervention ABA therapy that combines evidence-based care with the power of play. Research shows children learn best when they're engaged, motivated, and building skills through positive reinforcement, which is why our approach is grounded in Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention (NDBI) principles.

We create opportunities for children to develop communication, social, play, daily living, and independence skills in environments that feel natural and enjoyable. Through individualized care and close family collaboration, we help children build meaningful skills that carry beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.

Committed to Creating a Warm, Supportive Environment

The Downtown Overland Park Family

At The Behavior Project, we believe great care begins with strong relationships. Our team is passionate about creating a warm, encouraging environment where children feel safe to learn, families feel supported, and every child is valued for who they are. Through compassionate care, collaboration, and individualized support, we're committed to helping children and families grow with confidence every step of the way.

Helping Children and Families Thrive

Located in the heart of Downtown Overland Park, The Behavior Project serves children and families throughout Overland Park and surrounding Johnson County communities.

We are one of the only ABA clinics in the area owned and operated by a BCBA-D that also holds BHCOE (Behavioral Health Center of Excellence) accreditation. A combination that reflects a high standard of clinical care and independently verified quality.

We understand the uncertainty that can follow an autism diagnosis, and our goal is to provide compassionate, structured support every step of the way.

Small Steps. Meaningful Progress.

Getting started should feel supportive, not overwhelming. From your first conversation with our team to personalized recommendations and ongoing care, we’re here to help make every step feel clear, comfortable, and designed around your child’s needs.

Supporting Your Family Beyond the Clinic

At The Behavior Project, we believe families deserve support, guidance, and encouragement throughout their child's therapy journey. Our goal is to help parents and caregivers feel more confident, informed, and prepared to support their child in everyday moments.

Parent support is built into each child's program from the beginning. Families meet regularly with their child's BCBA to review progress, ask questions, and learn practical strategies that can be used at home, in the community, and during daily routines. The skills your child builds in therapy are designed to carry over into real life-from mealtime and bedtime routines to playdates, school, and time with family.

Because every family is different, parent support is individualized around your questions and priorities. Together, we help families better understand their child's goals, support progress outside the clinic, and build confidence one step at a time.

The Behavior Project is a locally owned ABA practice serving families throughout the Kansas City metro. Founded and led by Dr. Kate Lamb, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level (BCBA-D), our practice is committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care for every child. Her leadership and clinical expertise help ensure the highest quality of care across all locations.
