Your child was just diagnosed with autism, and the stack of next steps in front of you probably feels impossible to prioritize.
The Behavior Project was built for exactly this moment. Founded in 2018, and led by Dr. Kate, our ABA therapy program is delivered through a Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI) approach, so your child learns through play, real-life moments, and ABA child-led interactions that are also fun.
The goal is genuine growth that stays true to who your child already is, and help parents feel fully equipped to suport their child on their journey. Explore more below, and don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly team.
What We Do & Who We Serve
LEARN ABOUT OUR ABA PROGRAM
Play-Based ABA Therapy
Kids absorb new skills far more readily when they are genuinely interested in what's happening. At The Behavior Project, play has a purpose and our therapy is supported by evidence based research. Your child's ABA program is built around their existing strengths, interests, and the real-life skills that will matter most to them. Who says this doesn't have to also be fun?
Our approach is grounded in Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI), so we follow your child's lead, building on their natural interests, we create meaningful learning opportunities that feel less like therapy and more like being a kid.
Your child's tailored ABA program covers a range of skills from communicating wants and needs, to building friendships and navigating daily routines. Skills learned through connection and enjoyment carry over into everyday life much more reliably.

Early Intervention
The earlier children begin ABA therapy, the more opportunity they have to build foundational skills during key years of development. For many children, starting between ages 2 and 6 can support growth in communication, social interaction, and daily living skills.
You likely have a lot of questions about what comes next. From understanding your options to deciding on the right first steps for your child, our team is here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Skills & Behavior Assessments
Before therapy begins, your child's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) takes time to get a thorough understanding of your child's current strengths, skills, and areas for growth.
- Which skills are solid.
- Which are emerging for further development.
- Where to focus first.
This is a two-hour initial assessment at The Behavior Project; it's play-based and fun for your child. You'll learn a lot too!
This is something that takes place while you complete paperwork, share your family's goals, and ask the questions you've been wanting to ask. This is not a diagnostic evaluation. What we're doing together builds the foundation for their individualized treatment plan that is specific to their needs and who they are first.

Feeding Challenges
Using evidence-based strategies, your child's behavior analyst can help make mealtimes more comfortable by gradually increasing acceptance of new foods, building tolerance for different textures, and expanding the variety of foods your child feels confident eating.
If you already have a food therapist on your team, The Behavior Project can collaborate with them to ensure your child receives the best possible experience and outcome.
Mealtime doesn't have to be challenging, and your child might just discover a world of new food that will become their new favorites!

Language Development
Helping your child communicate more effectively is one of the most meaningful things your family can work toward. Our hearts are all warmer when little ones feel happy freely expressing themselves.
Your child's board certified behavior analyst works on requesting, responding, initiating, and expanding their vocabulary through the natural interactions that unfold across every session.
Do you already have a speech-language pathologist on your child's team? Our analysts collaborate with them directly to reinforce those skills across the different settings they'll experience. We want to collaborate with you, and your child's entire team to ensure their continued growth and success.

Social Skills Training
At The Behavior Project, the goal is to help children develop the skills that make genuine connection possible.
Social skills programming focuses on authentic interactions: taking turns in conversation, reading social cues, initiating with peers, navigating group activities, and building relationships. Children use these skills every day on the playground, in the classroom, at family gatherings, and at home.
Because social growth happens through real experiences, we weave opportunities for peer interaction and naturalistic social learning throughout each day. This helps children practice and strengthen their skills so they can carry them confidently into the world beyond the therapy setting.

Toilet Training
For some children, learning to use the toilet independently is an important part of building everyday life skills. When appropriate, toileting goals can be incorporated into your child's individualized ABA program using evidence-based strategies that support steady progress.
Because success depends on consistency across environments, family involvement plays an important role in the process. Our team works closely with parents and caregivers to provide guidance, answer questions, and help ensure that skills learned in the clinic carry over at home.

Parent Support
So much growth happens in the everyday moments between sessions-at the dinner table, during difficult transitions, in the car on the way to school, and throughout your family’s daily routines. These are the moments where new skills begin to take root and become part of real life.
That’s why parent support is built into our program from the start. You’ll meet regularly with your child’s Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to learn the same principles and strategies your child’s team uses each day. With that support, your responses at home can reinforce the progress happening in the clinic and help your child continue building skills across settings.
At The Behavior Project, families are true partners in the process. That consistency between clinic and home plays an important role in life long outcomes.
